Why is it good to put lemon juice in the washing machine?

When God gives you lemons, get ready to wash your whites! It sounds strange, but lemon juice can act as a natural substitute for bleach to keep white fabrics clean and shiny.

As we have told you before, lemon is ideal for cleaning and flavoring the sink. But it can help and freshen white clothes without having to use bleach or any other chemical bleach for textiles.

All you have to do is add a ¼ – ½ cup of lemon juice along with the laundry detergent to the white wash. Alternatively, you can pour lemon juice in a basin with warm water and let the clothes soak for at least half an hour.

This way you will avoid whitening whites and whites will get a pleasant lemon aroma.

Be careful though, as lemon juice can fade colors, it is a good idea to use this trick only for white fabrics.
